Dry Suit Diver
If you intend on diving into colder waters then using a dry suit is essential.
Join us for one of our most popular diving courses - our Dry Suit course, which provides you with the ultimate skills to dive safely and comfortably whilst using a dry suit. The course consists of theory you complete at home than go through with an instructor, a pool session (Tuesday 30th April), and 2 Open Water dives (currently scheduled on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May 2024 at Stoney Cove). Swimming Pool
Our weekly pool sessions are on Tuesday evenings at Ipswich High School, Woolverstone, Suffolk. IP9 1AZ arriving at 7.15pm, getting in the water for 7.30pm. Join us for a course, or to just get in the water and blow some bubbles, snorkel or even have a swim. Booking is necessary so make sure you contact us to reserve your place. For courses we need at least 1 weeks notice.
Open Water Diver
If you want to dive anywhere in the world, with anyone you want, then you need to join our globally recognised Open Water Diver certification and become part of an exclusive group of underwater explorers that most people only dream about joining! Our Open Water program means after certification you can dive to 18 meters with a buddy anywhere in the world. Learning to dive is much easier than you think. Deep Diver
Are you ready to dive a bit deeper and explore deeper wrecks, coral-encrusted walls, reefs and more?
Many exciting dive sites lie in deeper waters and our Deep Diving Specialty will teach you how to get down there safely and with confidence. During our course you will learn how to plan and conduct dives from between 18 and 40 meters deep and earn your Deep Diving Specialty certification.
As a deep diver, you’ll get to discover some of the world’s best dive sites and most sought-after marine life. Our deep diving qualification will teach you all you need to dive to depths between 18 and 40 meters, through a mixture of academic sessions and open water dives.
Over our Stoney Cove weekend you’ll learn to plan and safely complete your deep diving adventures and use of computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most from your deep dives, whilst under the supervision of one of our instructions.

Capernwray
Join Ipswich Scuba for a weekend diving at at the acclaimed UK’s finest Inland dive site on the edge of the lake district!
With underwater features which include:
Exceptional visibility and the second cleanest recreational bathing water in the UK (that’s official!).
The finest stock of fish in any diving Centre, anywhere! Huge shoals of roach and perch, together with vast numbers of extremely friendly trout (!) and of course, our world-famous sturgeons, two of which are six feet long.
Purpose-designed training platforms at depths from 2 meters to 12 meters to satisfy every training requirement.
Jetty with two piers for deep-water entry to simulate hard boat recovery.
Concrete slipway for entry/exit to training area platforms.
Two clear, buoyed, and graduated training areas with two non-slip platforms positioned in 2 and 6 meters of water.
Underwater cave to simulate lining-out techniques for wreck/cave diving.
Numerous underwater attractions including; the African Queen, a look-a-like vessel in the Humphrey Bogart Film at 12 meters, The Gypsy Moth- a spitting image of a yacht with the same name at 17 meters, Lord Lucan and Shergar the famous fiberglass horses from Blackpool Pleasure Beach and much more.
Overall plan -
Drive up Friday 31st May and stay at our accommodation. Some people plan to leave early and dive on Friday or you can come up in the evening and dive the Saturday and Sunday only.

Return Home Sunday Night or you can come home Monday if you prefer.

React Right EFR Course
Our React Right course is SSI’s emergency first response course and provides you with the training and knowledge you need to act as a first responder in a medical emergency
Using a combination of academic sessions and practical training scenarios, this program will give you the tools and confidence you need for emergency response. By the time you are certified, you will be able to act as an emergency first responder, provide first aid and CPR, administer oxygen and provide AED support in a medical emergency.
Our React Right Primary Care (CPR) & Secondary Care (First Aid) Course prepares you to deal with medical emergencies, by teaching you the latest emergency care, covering a variety of topics including;
Primary Care:
• The role of helping others in need
• Scene assessment
• Barrier use
• Primary assessment
• Rescue breathing
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Serious bleeding management
• Shock management
• Spinal injury management
• Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Conscious choking adult
Secondary Care
• Injury assessment
• Illness assessment
• Bandaging
• Splinting for dislocations and fractures
After completing all course requirements, you will be certified as an SSI React Right Provider–a certification that will be valid for two years. Rescue Skills Refresh
You have done the Rescue course but are your skills still fresh in your mind!
Ipswich Scuba offers a 6 monthly refresher of rescue skills in the pool under instruction of am instructor. This is an opportunity for you to refresh and practice the important rescue skills under the guidance of an instructor in a safe environment making you confident and a better buddy should you ever need them.
The session takes place at our weekly pool session at Ipswich High School from 19:15pm until 21:00pm. The price is £30 and incudes the session, equipment and instructor guidance.
You may only wish to attend one course every now and then or join us every 6 months when we offer the course, it is up to you.
