Our Try Scuba programme is the best way to try scuba diving and experience the magical underwater world for the first time. You will be in confined water and well looked after by your instructor, so you can enjoy those first unforgettable breaths underwater and experience the magic of scuba diving. At the end of this 90-minute session, you will have earned our Try Scuba recognition card, which we register with SSI and undoubtedly you will want to go diving again.

Stress and Rescue - Tuesday 29 Jul, 9:30 am - 5 pm
In our SSI Diver Stress and Rescue specialty program, we will teach you the skills you need to protect yourself and other divers.
You will learn:
How to identify stress
How to prevent accidents
How to conduct rescues
How to provide emergency care.
Through online learning, and a combination of pool and open water practice sessions, you will become well prepared and confident at handling emergency and rescue situations.

Scuba Explorer Starting 5th August 2025 - Tuesday 5 Aug, 7.15 pm - 9 pm
Become an SSI Underwater Scuba Explorer with Ipswich Scuba Today!
The SSI Explorers program allows children from age 6 (for snorkeling, mermaid and freediving) and age 8 (for scuba diving) to go underwater and sample different ways they can explore the aquatic world around them. They will gain a solid foundation in ocean conservation and have the opportunity to experience four main aquatic adventures: snorkeling, scuba diving (age 8 and over), freediving, and swimming like a real mermaid.
Besides fun for the whole family, your children will learn important life skills. These underwater adventures will enable young underwater enthusiasts to acquire important water skills, water confidence, key marine knowledge as well as improve their self-esteem, and sense of responsibility.

Drysuit diving opens up a world of opportunities, including diving remote Arctic destinations and exploring cold-water dive sites teeming with life, especially worthwhile if you want to dive in the UK and wish to join us on one of our exciting UK trips.
Dry suit diving also keeps you warm on multi-dive days when you do not want to spend your time getting in and out of a cold wetsuit.
Our SSI Dry Suit Diving specialty program is the best way to become a dry suit diver and teaches you all the knowledge and techniques you need to dive safely and comfortably in a dry suit. See our Dry Suit Diver page for more information.
The course consists of some online work, one confined water orientation on the 19th August and 2 open water dives on either the 23rd or the 24th August 2025

3 day diving Portland - Thursday 28 Aug-Sunday 21 August, 7:15 am - 5 pm
Ipswich Scuba has teamed up with Sea Leopard to offer you 3 days diving the Jurassic coastline of Portland where you will find a abundance of reef and ledges which are home to a huge variety of marine life.
Join us for 3 days of diving a haven for dive warships, submarines, old sailing ships there are plenty of wrecks to explore and with thriving life from dead mans fingers nudibranchs, octopus to seals; you will not be disappointed.

Open Water Diver - Tuesday 2 Sep, 7.15 pm - 9 pm
This globally recognized certification program is the best way to begin your lifelong adventures as a certified scuba diver.
With our personalised training, combined with theory, confined water and open water practice sessions, we will ensure you have the skills and experience required to become truly comfortable underwater and you will earn the SSI Open Water Diver certification.

Decompression Diver - Saturday 6 Sep, 9.30 am - 1 pm
The opportunities to expand your diving adventures have just got bigger!
The SSI Decompression Diving Specialty will teach you how to dive beyond the no-decompression limits. You will learn to plan and conduct dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression using your recreational total diving system and a single decompression cylinder. You will learn and practice how to effectively use your dive computer features, including switching gases, gas integration, time-to-reserve, and time-to-surface. Using these computer functions will become second nature, enabling you to safely conduct dives with limited decompression without hours of dive planning.

React Right - Saturday 6 Sep, 9:30 am - 5 pm
Be prepared for an emergency with our React Right Course!
React Right is SSI’s emergency first response course. It provides you with in-depth first aid training and knowledge to act as a first responder in any medical emergency including a diving emergency.
The SSI React Right Certification is a theory-based course - online and in-person with lots of practical applications in our well stocked classroom.

React Right Reactivate - Saturday 13 Sep, 9:30 am - 5 pm
You have done it before but it is important to stay fresh and prepared for an emergency with our React Right Reactivate Course!
React Right is SSI’s emergency first response course. It provides you with in-depth first aid training and knowledge to act as a first responder in any medical emergency including a diving emergency. It is recommended you keep your skills fresh every 2 years which is why we have the reactivate course.
The SSI React Right Reactivation reminds you to relook at the online materials and attend an in-person session with lots of practical applications to refresh your first aid skills in our well stocked classroom.
